North East council adds to fleet thanks to North East Truck and Van

A north east council is set to take delivery of bespoke IVECO Daily vehicles from North East Truck and Van. Covering over 500,000 residents, Durham County Council is one of the most populous local authorities in the country, with the seven vehicles joining the extensive fleet.

The custom-built Daily 50C18 3520 long wheelbase units have been converted into overhead lighting access vehicles. Fitted with a VTL 145-F platform, they have a working height of 14.6m and a maximum outreach of 9.2m. Additional specification added includes toilet, storage racking and rear roller shutter door.

Speaking about the additions to the fleet, Hubert Van Huet, IVECO Sales Executive commented “The seven additional vehicles will assist Durham County Council on a daily basis for many years to come. They have been tailored to the exact requirements set out and will allow the council to meet the needs of their residents and businesses.”

When asked about the new vehicles Mark Readman, Highways Services Manager said, “Durham County Council have worked closely with IVECO to introduce welfare facilities into our St L hoist fleet. The new provision offers great benefits to our transient workers and to our knowledge is the first hoist nationally to incorporate this initiative.”
