Sandy McDonald

Managing Director

Sandy entered the automotive industry in 1982, before joining NETV in 1987 as Financial Controller. A family man and a passionate Newcastle United supporter, he rose quickly up the ladder, becoming Finance Director and Joint Managing Director before being appointed Managing Director in 2002. With an in-bred commitment to the industry, Sandy is a member of the Iveco Dealer Association (IDA) and an active member of the Dealer Management Committee, serving as Treasurer and having served as Chairman for seven years. He is committed to the continued growth and success of NETV, and is passionate about delivering first-class customer service and quality through a continued investment in the best facilities, staff and training

Ian Hopkins

Commercial Director

Ian joined NETV in April 2012 as Commercial Director to support the Sales and after sales teams within NETV. The role is an exciting new opportunity to develop both sides of the business to ensure customer focus is paramount within the group to continually develop products and services for new and existing customers. Ian brings with him a wealth of experience throughout his career where he started in the industry as an apprentice LCV mechanic, reaching career mile stone of Service Manager through to his former role of Operations Director.

David Jackson

Aftersales Quality & Development Director

David joined NETV in 1989 on a 6-week temporary contract and is an example of the company's policy of promotion from within. Having worked in a variety of positions within After Sales, David brings an abundance of experience to his role. Working closely with staff to continually improve the customer experience is one of David's key roles.

John McDonald

Operations Director

The son of Sandy McDonald, North East Truck & Van’s (NETV) Chairman, John very much has the Company in his blood and in October 2014 John followed in his Father’s footsteps and joined NETV in the role of Financial Analyst.

John has quickly moved up the ranks and was appointed Operations Director in May 2016, as part of his role John is responsible for the finance, HR and IT departments amongst numerous other duties and enjoys a very varied role having the opportunity to be involved in all parts of the business.

During his time so far at NETV John has consistently added value to the Company, drawing from his education and previous experience as an accountant working within audit and assurance during which time he experienced working with many different companies in the North East and beyond, ranging in size and industry. He has since been able to use this experience to the advantage of NETV.

John holds a BA(Hons) in Business Management and a Graduate Diploma in Finance, Accounting and Business, both from Newcastle University.

Outside of the workplace John is a keen theatregoer and loves to travel to new and interesting places throughout the world.

John is a key player in the NETV family and is dedicated to the development and growth of the Company, as well as the welfare of its committed and loyal employees. With his drive, eye for detail and expertise the future of the Company looks bright.

Norman Whittaker

Technical Engineering Director

Norman has been with the company since its inception. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in the development of many innovative engineering concepts and proactive in finding solutions for the challenges presented by various manufacturers.

Steve Lane

Aftersales Support Director

Steve joined the NETV team in 1989 as Stock Controller for the Billingham site. He progressed to Group Stock Controller, before becoming Group Parts Manager in 2002 and Parts Director in 2007. In September 2010, his role expanded into After Sales Director, responsible for all after sales activities for the NETV group. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, having spent his full working life in an after sales environment.
